Every day people face the question of what to do with their pets when travel,  illness or family emergencies disrupt normal care. We at Boca North Animal Hospital & Pet Inn are here to help you solve this problem by providing a de­pendable, secure and safe environment for your pet in your absence. Our goals are two fold:

 

  1. To give your pet a happy and safe Boarding experience
  2. To enable you to enjoy your time away from home content that your pet is receiving the best care possible.

 

So that you might better understand more about our boarding facilities and services and how they benefit both you and your pet, we have assembled a list of questions and answers about Boca North Animal Hospital & Pet Inn which explain some other more commonly asked about topics.

 

How much does it cost to board my pet?

Our prices for boarding dogs are dependent upon your pet's weight. If we have a close estimate we can then estimate the cost to you. Charges are based on a per night basis. Cats are charged on a per night per cat basis. Our recep­tionists will be glad to provide an estimate.

 

Are the pets bathed while boarding?

Yes, upon entrance to the Pet Inn all pets are combed in the owner's presence to determine if any parasites (fleas, flea dirt or ticks) are present. If our guests are free of any such parasites they are bathed at dismissal only. If, however, there is a problem found we must bathe our guest prior to admission and at dismissal for the mutual benefit of all our guests

 

What are your hours?

We are open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. We are open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday and from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday. We are closed for busi­ness on Sunday.

 

Is there someone who checks up on my pet during the evening/night?

Yes, we have an attendant living on the premises.

 

What if I want my pet checked out during non-­business hours?

In order for after hours check out to be available we have to arrange for a kennel operator to be present and impose on our other guest’s relax­ation: thus we charge a fee on a per guest basis for non-business hour checkout.

 

How big are your runs?

We have full sized runs available for all of our guests. The Dog runs are two sizes 4' x 12' and 4' x 5'.  Runs allow our guest plenty of room to move around and exercise.  As for our feline friends we have open-sided individual kitty condos 2 1/2' by 3' that are very spacious.

 

Are the cats and dogs boarded in the some area?

No, we have separate facilities that separate our canine and feline guests in order to provide as stress free a stay as possible.

 

What does my pet eat while visiting?

We have a full line of Hills Science and prescrip­tion diets available for our guests whose diet is part of a doctor prescribed therapeutic plan. We also can accommodate our guests with food brought in by their owner.

 

Are there veterinary services available?

Yes, Boca North Animal Hospital & Pet Inn is owned and operated by Dr. Dwyatt Bull who is available for veterinary services should the need arise.

 


What immunizations do my pet need prior to boarding?

For the protection of your pet as well as those belonging to others the following immunizations are required:

  • Dogs - Bordetella, Distemper, Parvo and Rabies. A yearly heartworm test and fecal exam (with negative status) is also required.
  • Cats - Distemper, Feline Leukemia and Rabies. A negative feline leukemia status and yearly fecal exam (again with negative results performed within the past year) are also required.

 

My pet is currently on medication - can I still board him/her?

Yes a small medication administration fee is charged.

 

My pet doesn't sleep on cold concrete or steel, do they?

Each run has a plastic bed that is raised up off the run floor. Each bed is covered at night with a rug or blanket in order for our guest to have a warm, soft place to rest.

 

Can my pet be groomed before discharge?

Yes, grooming is provided onsite by Dogs by Renee. Please mention your interest and she will be glad to help.

 

Can I have a tour of the Pet Inn facilities?

Definitely!! We encourage any pet owner to exspect to have a tour of any establishment where they may leave their pets for boarding. We give tours any time during regular business hours.

 

What should I do to prepare my pet for boarding? We recommend that:

  • You make your reservations early
  • Verify those items which you might want to bring with you to the Pet Inn (immunization records and/or pet's regular veterinarian' s phone number, special food. medication. bedding. toys. etc).
  • Make arrangements for any special ser­vices you wish to have performed (grooming, health certificates, vaccinations, veterinary services, etc)
